As 2023 draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Shield for their support throughout the season, without which it would be impossible for me to be competitive in the relevant series. Motorsport can be extremely humbling at the best of times and success is not just about the driver on the podium, but rather the collective participation and efforts of the team members.
Kudos to 8V Performance for opening their shop early in the morning to fix an electronic problem before the race. Sarel and his team are the wizards that have made the Shield Golf one of the fastest 8-valves in the country and a real crowd favourite at all the circuits.
Without the support of my family and friends and the sharing of knowledge from legends Jannie van Rooyen and Andy Gossman, it would be increasingly difficult to stay competitive… these guys are an absolute wealth of knowledge and help me keep the Shield Golf competitive.
Big thank you for all the support and tips and tricks…
Andy helping me sort out with a TPS problem at Zwartkops before the race.
24 HOUR ENDURANCE RACING
I was fortunate enough to be asked to take up a seat for the second year in a row in The Xtra Clothing and Shoes entry as we managed a victory in 2022.
The four-man team of Adrian Dalton, Gerhard Henning, Brett Langston and Wayne Lebotschy, who took the win last year, battled adverse weather conditions and a field of almost 70 cars to cross the finish line first for the second year in a row, just ahead of the ATS team, who were extremely strong competitors.
Finally, I would like to wish everyone at Shield and all those who have supported me during the season a blessed and relaxing Festive Season and a Happy New Year.
I am looking forward to the 2024 season and hope we can improve on 2023.
Shield a big thank you for your continued support.
